Info

Cyclocamp is a transnational event for DIY Bike enthusiasts.

This year’s edition takes place for the first time in Zagreb, Croatia, from the 18th until the 22nd of September.

During these days, we will gather to invent, exchange, weld and fix bikes together. The local DIY bike community will provide tools and space in the local bike kitchen to work on collective and personal projects. There will be a schedule with workshops, games and other activities, so if you would like to propose anything of the sort, let us know!

On the last day of the event, which is the international Car-free day, there will be a spontaneous gathering of cyclists. In its spontaneous form, this is not a really common practice in Croatia, at least it hasn’t been for the last 20 years. Any support, ideas, encouragement for this day will be very welcome!

It is rather likely that after the last day, there will be an off-program trip to Vrginmost, a small village south of Zagreb which was heavily polluted by plastic industry for the last three years. We will be offering bike repair to the local community, and will then do a bike trip to the local antifascist monument of Petrova Gora. Note : this part of the (off-)program still has to be confirmed.

We organize horizontally, but we will of course take responsability to provide food and accomodation as most people will be travelling from far away. However, we hope we will be able to self-organize the common tasks like cooking, cleaning and organizing the space. There will not be much infrastructure to build as we will work in the local bike kitchen, but extra hands are always welcome to set up the kitchen, extra toilets, & so on.

The accomodation will be provided by the local squats. You will receive more information about that by private message when you apply through the form, or upon arrival.

If you’re traveling from outside Zagreb and require accommodation and meals, please fill in the
Registration form”. This will help us plan sleeping arrangements and food better.

Last but not least, a reminder that we aim at building an open community, and that bicycling is for us also a political statement. Therefore, we do not welcome racist, ableist, macho, homo/transphobic, classist and any other discriminatory behaviors.

See you soon,
